Post Partum

Having A Child (or children)…

I’ll never forget the moment when the doctor said I could bring my first child home and I thought… what? I have no idea what I’m doing!? (And I had been working in post partum services for 10 years!)

The transition to becoming a parent is intense, beautiful, joyful, and hard—It is all the feels! And for many of us, it raises to the surface our emotional and relational struggles. With sleep deprivation, we can be more moody and resort back to old ways of managing those emotions. And many of us feel more vulnerable than before negotiating with our partners how to keep a child alive, while still trying to take care of our own basic needs (if we even feel capable of acknowledging we still have them).

Wherever you are on this journey, know you will find a warm space to rest, reflect and get nourished in our work. I welcome every mixed feeling you have about being a parent and co-parenting and can help guide your through learning skills to manage this phase of life. Whether it’s having (sometimes difficult) conversations with your partner or community or growing more space to prioritize your own needs even with having children—it is possible to feel better even as a parent.
