If you grew up in the Catholic tradition…
Or are still an active member today…
you may find yourself having questions and doubts about the things you were taught to believe as truth. Have you been asking yourself questions similar to these?
Feeling immense amounts of shame?
Feeling the need to “confess” to friends?
Feeling you are “bad [sinful]” at your core?
Being raised Catholic myself, I understand how challenging a season where you feel like you’re questioning everything you were taught to believe can be. When we work together, I’ll be able to help you process these questions and work through how some of them may have affected you individually to help gain understanding and compassion for your inner world.
Here’s what we will work through together and help create in your life:
You’ll get to enjoy an empowered life where you can choose how you want to incorporate your Catholic identity and/or culture in your life (if at all)
We’ll explore other ways to engage with deeper questions around the meaning of life and finding purpose and fulfillment
You can find healing for the teachings you’ve received around mental health, women’s roles, sexuality, or other areas that may have harmed you
You can finally experience less shame for just being human
Look forward to finding or gaining new appreciation for aspects of the Catholic culture that nourish your life, whether you remain integrated in the religion (unconditional love, community, breaking bread, reflection/prayer)
You can feel more at peace and fulfilled
If being with someone who will sit in your questions with you (rather than telling you what to believe) sounds like a comforting thought- I hope to hear from you.
